Use the Adjusted Tonnage report to quickly view or print the actual weight of feed corrected for dry matter content and environmental factors such as moisture gain or loss during harvesting, storage, and handling. For instance, you may need to make an adjustment to account for extra moisture from rain, or drier conditions on windy days. The adjustment ensures that the tonnage reflects the true nutritional value rather than the “as-fed” weight. This report also simplifies and automates the billing process and eliminates calculation errors when paying growers for feed or charging customers for crops from your harvest. You can find this feature under the WeighComp menuWeighComp menu.

Before you can generate the Adjusted Tonnage report, set the actual DM% for this crop. The fixed DM% is taken into account for all loads and is used to standardize DM% for environmental variables and for billing purposes.

Example: Your contract with a customer is 80% DM for alfalfa hay. In 5 loads, the average DM% was 75.95%. PULSE automatically adjusts the load weights and cost to account for the excess water content to match the actual feed weight you are storing.

Include pending loads: Check this option to include loads that have not been approved.

Include mileage: Check this option to include mileage costs in the report. See Edit and Approve LoadsEdit and Approve Loads if you need to adjust the total mileage or reimbursement amount for a load.

Split report: Choose whether to include all harvest loads or to divide the report by truck or chopper. (This setting applies to the PDF version of the report only.)

Note: Use this field to add more information about the report or harvest.

Click the green Print Inline image or Export buttons at the top right of the page to generate the report. You can export the report as PDF or CSV.

Use the following guidelines when viewing the report:

In the PDF or printed report, review the summary row at the top for the total weight of all loads, average actual DM%, fixed DM%, and total adjusted tons.

The adjusted tonnage is the actual amount of feed being stored and is based on the fixed DM%, which controls the actual water content of the crop.

The calculation for adjusted tonnage is: (net tons × actual DM%) ÷ fixed DM%
